You're very good, having found another one of my secret pages!
Once your mind has been ‘enlightened’ to the number twenty-three, you will begin to notice it everywhere and anywhere around you. Where any old number could have been used, you will see and come to realise that number twenty-three is all too often the number of choice. You will see it on the TV and cinema, in newspapers, in magazines and in books; in fact just about everywhere you happen to look.
I am sure you are by now wondering why this number is so popular. Let me explain…
There are many theories and suggestions as to why the number twenty-three is so popular; a simple search on Google will bring up several thousand results and all claiming to know the reason why. Amongst these wildly varying theories are claims as diverse as it being the Freemasons ‘special number’, to it having Alien connections. It has also even been suggested that it is somehow connected to the number of chromosomes in the human body; the list simply goes on and on. There are so many theories running about, it’s mind-boggling.
I myself, however, am quite content to leave these ideas, these suggestions and theories for others to ruminate over. The only thing that I am concerned with is how I see it, and that is as follows…
In my opinion, the reason for this zealous almost fanatical use of the number twenty-three is really quite simple. I believe that it’s simply a number, a number that confused, shallow people, who have nothing else left to believe in, have chosen to cling to. I believe that in so doing they are creating a kinship with like-minded individuals who have also lost their way. Like us all, they need something to believe in, something to live for, but, sadly, their only answer is to elevate a number to an almost god-like status. Now please do remember that’s all it is, just a number. They have made twenty-three into a password of sorts, where each ‘believer’ can find solace with other likeminded, but sadly misguided individuals, saying ‘I believe in the same thing as you do, and there are so many of us we must be right’.
It’s really quite sad, to think that mature, educated and, apparently, intelligent people would think so little of themselves to act in this absurd way, but they do.
The End.
I am the crazy-mad writer of children's stories, songs, nursery rhymes and much, much more!
